Digital Classroom Terms

The Digital Classroom Terms
  1.         Personalized learning – high expectation of every child given practical form by high quality teaching based on sound knowledge and understanding of each child’s needs
  2.         Collaborative learning   philosophy of interaction and personal lifestyle
  3.    Scaffolding - the role teachers and more knowledgeable peers play in the ZPD
  4.   Zone of Proximal Development - concept that the social and cultural context of knowledge construction is a key part of the child's environment
  5.         Inclusion – where pupils who have a range of learning and physical disabilities work alongside their peers in  a mainstream environment
  6.         Social networking – an organic form of web-based collaboration
  7.         Wikis – openly accessible collaborative space located on an Internet server, which can be used to generate knowledge bases
  8.         ubiquitous learning – learning at any time or any location
  9.         Assessment – Measuring children’s progress
  10.         Validity  - whether the assessment measures the stated aims and outcomes of a lesson or whether a child’s performance is accurately being measured
